Job summary

LEARN Academy in Phoenix, AZ is interviewing for an Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students in Kinder through 5th grade, with a caseload under 20.

You will collaborate with school staff to implement evidence-based interventions, develop and monitor IEPs, and participate in MTSS/RTI initiatives while providing advocacy for student needs. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education or related field.
• Current ADE certification.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to their unique needs.
• Adapt general education lessons and teaching techniques to meet needs of students with various disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Prepare and organize classroom activities, educational materials, and assistive technologies to create an effective learning environment.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and IEPs as necessary.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior support strategies when needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on student progress and recommended interventions.
• Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
• Support MTSS/RTI initiatives and advocate for students’ needs and rights.

• Advocate for students' needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and services.
• Complete academic assessments as directed by school site.
