Job summary

Every Special Child in Philadelphia is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026-27 school year. You will teach groups of students, create individual lesson plans, and work closely with parents and support staff to support each learner's progress.

You will develop IEPs, monitor student outcomes, and collaborate with the team to adapt materials and plan transitions between grades.

Qualifications

• Valid Instructional I or Instruction II Special Education Certification for PA.
• 1+ years of experience as a Special Education Teacher.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach groups of students and tailor lessons to individual needs.
• Develop IEPs and monitor student progress.
• Communicate with parents and support staff to support student growth.
• Adapt learning materials for diverse needs and reflect on progress.
• Coordinate with team to implement program goals and transitions between grades.

Every Special Child is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in Philadelphia for the 2026- 27 school year.

• Position: Special Education Teacher
• Age Group: K-12
• Credential Required: Instructional I or Instruction II Special Education Teacher Pk-12
• Start date: ASAP
• End Date: June 2027

Job Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for teaching groups of students.
• Meet each student’s learning requirements and build individual lesson plans to their specific needs.
• You will also discuss with parents and support staff to meet students’ progress.
• Adapt learning materials to students’ needs; ability to create IEPs
• Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress
• Monitor children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
• Prepare students for the transition to the next grade
• Coach/mentor other professionals who work with children with disabilities
• Collaborate with the support staff
• All other duties related to the program.

Requirements

• Valid Instructional I or Instructional II Special Education Certification for the state of Pennsylvania.
• 1+ years of work experience as a Special Education Teacher
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree with an emphasis in special education preferred.
