Location: Secret City Academy, Oak Ridge, TN. Salary is paid in accordance with the Teacher Salary Schedule; starting date is immediate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active Tennessee teaching license with Special Education endorsement 460 preferred or required for assignment.
• Experience with special education case management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of learners and their individual needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success.
• Provide effective instruction in a co-teaching environment.
• Establish a supportive learning environment through effective classroom management.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and other stakeholders.
• Use instructional methods tailored to student needs and plan the instructional program.
• Evaluate instructional effectiveness and monitor student progress.
• Provide special education case management and write IEP goals and progress documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oak Ridge Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher. The teacher will provide individualized instruction, manage special education services, and collaborate with staff and families to support student learning and progress.

• Demonstrate knowledge of subject areas relevant to the assignment.
• Provide special education case management.
• Schedule meetings, develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and accurately document progress toward IEP goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and an active Tennessee teaching license with Special Education endorsement code 460 appropriate for the assignment required.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Special education case management experience preferred.

Salary: $38,962.70 to $68,962.60 Per Year
