Description: ICT Special Education Teacher; for Big History and Environmental Science

RequiredCredentials: N.Y.S. teacher certification- Special Education to cover grades 9-12, successful prior teaching or student teaching experience, knowledge of N.Y.S. Learning Standards, collaborative team member,and technologically proficient.

Preferred Credentials:

• Knowledge of Committee on Special Education process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal writing, implementation and progress monitoring. General knowledge of secondarycurriculum and instruction.
• Experience with providing special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth in the least restrictive environment.
• Experience with developing and/or modifying curriculum, preparing lessons and providing specially designed instruction to address individual student needs.

Experience with establishing and maintaining open communication with parents, students, teachers and other relevant stakeholders.
