Job summary

The LifeWorks School in Media, PA is actively hiring for certified Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 Academic School Year. A $10,000 Sign-On Bonus is offered for a certified Special Education Teacher.

LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for middle and high school students with social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Teachers provide academic and functional instruction, monitor progress with data, develop and monitor IEP goals, attend IEP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s level degree in Special Education is required.
  • PA certification in Special Education is required.
  • Content area certifications are preferred.
  • Prior experience with behavioral health challenges in a school setting is preferred.

  • Provides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting.
  • Monitors student academic and functional progress through data collection and daily observations.
  • Develops and monitors IEP goals, attends IEP meetings and coordinates goals.
  • Manages student behavior through individualized motivational systems and positive behavior support plans.

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school effected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. LifeWorks comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. Our unique balance of academic rigor and a continuum of evidence based educational/therapeutic supports make LifeWorks the regional provider of choice.

Special Education Teacher: p rovides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting; monitors student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods; observes and records student progress daily; develops and monitors student’s IEP, reports, goals, objectives, attend IEP meetings, establish, maintain, and work toward student goals as outlined in the IEP; manages student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program and positive behavior support plans.
