Role Description The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Lynchburg, VA. This position is responsible for planning and delivering individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs, adapting curriculum and materials, and using evidence-based strategies to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Daily activities include collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in IEP meetings and parent conferences. The teacher will provide classroom and small-group instruction, implement accommodations and modifications, manage classroom behavior using positive supports, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and division special education guidelines. Additional responsibilities include communicating regularly with families, engaging in professional learning, and contributing to a safe, inclusive school environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; valid or eligible Virginia teaching license with appropriate special education endorsement.
