Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Special Education Teacher to support K–12 students in a contracted full-time capacity in Henderson, TN. The role reports to the Special Education Program Administrator and involves implementing individualized programs and collaborating with general education staff.

Requirements include relevant state certifications and at least one year of teaching experience. Endorsements such as LBS1 are preferred, with health and safety clearances as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or preferred.
• State teaching certificates for elementary, secondary or special education.
• LBS1 endorsement preferred and CPR certification where applicable.
• Compliance with professional standards and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator in planning and implementing student programs.
• Consult with general education staff to support inclusive education.

Location: Henderson, TN

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
