Job summary

NeuroRestorative, part of Sevita, seeks a Special Education Teacher / SPED in Carbondale, IL for a full-time, on-site role. You will provide on-site and alternative/additional educational services to adolescent participants in a cognitive retraining and educational setting.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Special Education and LBS-1 certification, with experience in classroom or tutorial settings. You will coordinate strategies with the cognitive/trans-disciplinary team and contribute to

• LBS-1 certification required.
• One year of experience in classroom or tutorial settings; special education preferred.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate carry-over strategies developed by the cognitive or trans-disciplinary team.
• Attend weekly clinical team meetings with the communication/cognition team.
• Complete all necessary documentation such as service summaries, reports, billing slips, etc.
• Supervise and assist in the development and implementation of the curriculum.
• Develop methods for evaluating student progress.
• Meet with parents and students to provide guidance and seek solutions to problems.
• Implement the policy and procedure of the classroom environment.
• Attend all mandatory program/company training.
• Establish and maintain a supportive working relationship within the agency, school, and broader community service network.
