Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in Arlington, TX is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5) to support both general education and special education classrooms under Certified teachers. You will assist with assignments, behavior support, transitions, and personal care tasks as needed at Great Hearts Arlington Lower School.

The role involves collaboration with the Special Education and General Education teams, participation in meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher is required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Educational Aide certification I–III preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students 1:1 or in small groups.
• Support students with assignments and transitions.
• Help maintain classroom rules and positive behavior.
• Provide clerical support for the ESS team and attend trainings.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, and dressing as needed.
