Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a Special Education Assistant for Emerson Elementary—Student Services. Starting compensation is $25.47 hourly (26-27 Salary Schedule).

Non-exempt, in-person role supporting 4K-12 with IEPs, behavior plans, and transition services. Under supervision of licensed staff, you will assist with daily living tasks, instructional support, data collection, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure equitable access and student success across

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 48 college credits or pass onsite assessment.
• Wisconsin DPI Special Education Program Aide license required or eligible to obtain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in-person within MMSD.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and academic assistance to students with disabilities.
• Support 4K-12 curriculum and intervention strategies within general education settings.
• On-site job coaching for community work-sites and transition supports.
• Create accessible literacy materials and adapt materials to student needs.
• Monitor behavior with approved safety protocols and support with supervision.
• Maintain FERPA/HIPAA compliance and accurate data notes.
