Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or two years of college preferred.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• Experience with students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education teacher in providing for physical and instructional needs of students.
• Help teacher prepare instructional materials.
• Help maintain equipment.
• Help teacher keep data and administrative records.
• Assist students with physical disabilities according to their needs.
• Help manage behavior of students.
