Job summary

Greene County CSD is hiring a Special Education Paraeducator to provide essential support to teachers and students at Greene County Elementary. This role includes assisting with instructional reinforcement and helping students with various needs, including personal hygiene.

A high school diploma is required, and experience in an educational setting is preferred. The job is offered on an hourly basis for approximately 180 student contact days per year.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Respect for the dignity of and sensitivity to all students.
• Knowledge and experience with computer programs and software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support teachers and students in implementing IEP supports.
• Provide feedback on student work and promote a positive learning environment.
• Assist students with personal hygiene needs as required.

Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions

Ability to assist with group instructional reinforcement

Ability to handle students' personal hygiene needs

Composure under stressful conditions

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience in educational setting (preferred)
