Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Supervisor of Special Education to lead and coordinate district-wide SPED programs for the upcoming school year.

Candidates must hold PA SPED Supervisor or Principal PK-12, a Bachelor’s degree, and at least five years of SPED teaching experience.

Qualifications

Job description

The Special Education Supervisor provides leadership, coordination and supervision for special education programs and services serving students throughout the District. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Pennsylvania’s Chapter 14 regulations. This position serves as a department of two, and would primarily focus on the elementary level.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid and active PA Supervisor of Special Education Certificate or Principal PK-12 certificate
• Bachelor’s degree
• At least five (5) years of Special Education teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Education, Special Education
• Experience and familiarity with PA Chapter 14, Chapter 16 (Gifted), and secondary transition mandates
• Experience with monitoring and interpreting data and evaluation reports.
• Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills
