Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
• At least 5 years of school-based experience in special education; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• State license/certification and appropriate discipline credentials required.
• Background check clearance is required.

The Special Education Supervisor at LEARN Academy provides leadership and oversight of special education services across assigned school settings. This role supports staff, guides the development and implementation of IEPs, and ensures high-quality, compliant programs that help students with diverse learning needs succeed.

Working closely with educators, families, administrators, and school partners, the Special Education Supervisor promotes positive student outcomes while strengthening the quality and effectiveness of LEARN Academy’s special education services.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee special education programs, ensuring high-quality services and compliance with federal, state, district, and school requirements.
• Maintain a regular in‑person presence at assigned school site(s) to support staff, observe service delivery, address partner needs, and ensure program quality.
• Lead, coach, and develop special education staff through observations, feedback, performance support, and ongoing professional development.
• Support the development and implementation of IEPs, including meetings, assessments, data collection, case management, and staff guidance as needed.
• Develop and deliver training based on staff needs, compliance requirements, best practices, and school or district priorities.
• Build strong relationships with school and district leaders, families, staff, and other stakeholders to address needs, monitor outcomes, and maintain partner satisfaction.
• Monitor program performance through audits and review of student, staff, and program data to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and leadership to support recruiting, interviewing, staffing, and community or university outreach.
• Support new business development, contract renewals, and program growth by identifying opportunities and strengthening school and district partnerships.
• Stay current on special education laws, regulations, instructional practices, and professional standards, applying that knowledge to improve programs and student outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards in all aspects of the role.

What You Have

• Master’s Degree
• At least 5 years of school-based experience in special education required. Leadership, coaching, supervision, and/or program oversight experience highly desired.
• State license/certification and appropriate discipline credentials required.
• Pass background check.
