Job summary

Decaturproud is seeking an experienced special education teacher to serve students with IEPs in Indiana. The role focuses on developing IEPs, delivering individualized instruction, monitoring progress, and collaborating with administrators, teachers, staff, and families to support learning and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education required.
• Current Indiana Teaching License required.

Responsibilities

• Develop initial and annual IEPs for students on their caseload.
• Facilitate effective lessons.
• Provide support for academic, behavioral, social emotional, and adaptive needs.
• Prepare lessons with the needs of the learners in mind.
• Design activities to achieve learning objectives.
• Respect students and treat them with compassion and understanding.
• Progress monitor goals and maintain data tracking, evaluate and document progress.
• Supervise classes to ensure a safe and productive environment.
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, staff, and parents.
• Organize supplies, resources, and equipment.
• Deliver individualized instruction to each student through interactive learning.
• Ensure classroom is clean and orderly.
• Plan and implement educational activities beyond the IEP when appropriate.
• Prepare and distribute progress, grade and semester reports.
• Plan, prepare, and attend case conference meetings.
• Provide services based on individual needs within classroom or resource room.
• Demonstrate commitment and professionalism in attendance, punctuality, and standards.
• Establish and maintain positive communication with parents.
• Adhere to Article 7 guidelines.
