Job Description

Applications are being accepted for a 7‑hour per day Special Education Resource Paraprofessional position at Betz Elementary School. The special education paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The paraprofessional helps special education students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher. Duties include supervising and working with students, both one‑on‑one and in small groups when needed, and assisting the teacher in the classroom. The paraprofessional also lifts, provides physical assistance, assists in the lunchroom, and supports toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building.

Required qualifications: the applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others, with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned for the duration of the assignment. This position is subject to a veterans' preference.
