St. Coletta’s Lt. Joseph Kennedy Jr. School in Tinley Park, IL seeks a Paraprofessional to implement classroom activities and IEP goals under the supervision of the LBS1. The role involves data collection on student behavior and applying behavior management plans across settings.

Candidates should have IL paraprofessional or substitute licensure, references, and a valid IL driver's license. A background check and drug test are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with behavior de-escalation, preferred.
• Preference given to personnel with ABA Therapy experience.
• Certified by the State of Illinois as a paraprofessional or substitute. Information on how to apply for licensure can be found through the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Must provide at least two references that indicate interest in children and potential to be an aide in a classroom.
• Must possess a valid IL driver’s license meeting DCFS approval.
• Must pass a criminal background check and physical/drug test.

Responsibilities

• Implements the program and classroom activities written by the LBS1.
• Under LBS1 supervision, implements curriculum chosen through research and best practice.
• Maintains and collects data on student behavior per the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan (B.I.P.) and directed by the B.C.B.A.
• Knowledgeable of behavior management programs and able to implement them in structured and unstructured settings.
• Provides data related to completion of IEP goals for the assigned child and small group.
