Job summary

Elkhart Community Schools Building Corporation seeks a Paraprofessional - Special Education, Mild Intervention at Mary Daly Elementary School. Schedule: 7.0 hours/day, 188 days/year. Requires college credit or an Associate’s degree, ParaPro standard, and CPR certification.

Responsibilities include assisting in reading, writing, and math instruction, supporting students with special needs, and maintaining professional conduct. Must lift up to 50 pounds and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least 48 hours of earned college credit at an institution of higher education, or obtained an Associate’s degree (or higher), or met a rigorous standard of quality via Para Pro Assessment Test.
• Experience working with children; ability to use proper English and communicate well; pleasing personality; willingness to learn and expand general knowledge; initiative and ability to work independently.
• CPR certification for infants and adults; must have a valid Driver’s License in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics as appropriate.
• Support students with special education needs in mild intervention settings.
