Responsibilities

• Understands how exceptional conditions interact with human development to respond to varying abilities and behaviors.
• Creates a positive, engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Works as a team member to solve problems and develop quality programming.
• Participates in special instructional activities to meet program and student goals.
• Assists teachers in preparing materials, records, and data collection.
• Assists in integrating students with exceptional needs into general education and engaging them in activities.
• Assists in creating and defining learning targets and communicates them to students.
• Monitors IEP goals during group and individual instruction and supports related services.
• Uses technology to support instructional planning and individualized instruction.
• Monitors health needs and implements care programs as directed by staff.
