Job summary

School District 27J (Inc) is seeking a Part Time Special Education Paraprofessional for Intensive Support at Turnberry Elementary. The role involves assisting in both special and general education settings with IEP-driven supports, data collection, and collaboration with teachers.

Responsibilities include direct instruction, material modification, behavior support, and adherence to safety and CPI guidelines. Requires high school diploma, ability to lift, and CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with students with social/emotional disabilities preferred but not required.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must pass post-offer physical and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and academic support for students with disabilities in various settings.
• Modify materials and classroom environment under supervision.
• Identify and facilitate peer relationships and natural supports.
• Follow behavior intervention plans and supervise student activities.
• Maintain forms/records and communicate progress with teachers and therapists.
• Attend trainings and student staffings as required.
