Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Educator to support instructional programs and assist in supervising and instructing students with disabilities in both regular and special education settings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and ability to support IEP objectives.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse learners.
• Ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools.
• Requirement: Paraprofessional Educator certificate or PSC equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the instructional program within an assigned classroom; assist in supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students in regular and special education settings; implement IEP plans.
• Adapt classroom activities and materials to reinforce IEP goals and ensure participation of all students.
• Administer first aid and basic medical assistance as directed by health professionals.
• Support teachers by administering tests, homework, and makeup work.
• Assist medically fragile or physically disabled students with personal hygiene.
• Assist students with grooming, mobility, and daily living tasks.
• Consult with teachers on progress and IEP objectives; implement behavioral plans and data collection.
• Monitor students in various settings to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Perform record-keeping and organizational tasks to support instructional delivery.
• Provide instruction in small and large groups across subjects to reinforce objectives.
