Job summary

The Learning Lamp in Johnstown, PA is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in the Ferndale Area School District. The role involves classroom assistance, supervision of students, and help with records.

Hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The position is part-time with benefits and opportunities for training and development. Starting pay is $13 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher; or two years of postsecondary study; or completion of a state/local assessment.
• Must complete at least 20 hours of staff development related to assignment each school year.
• Willingness to pass required clearances and training (four clearances, mandated reporter training, TB test, First Aid-CPR).
• Capacity for sitting during the eight-hour day.
• Qualifications are in reference to CSPG 101 - Paraprofessional Staff.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Assistance: help with equipment, maintain neat classroom, assist students with physical needs and transferring, support learning adaptations.
• Supervision: manage behavior, supervise students inside/outside classroom including lunchroom, bus, playground.
• Record Keeping: assist teacher with records, maintain confidentiality, inform about student needs.
