Job summary

National Heritage Academies' Summerfield Charter Academy in Summerfield, NC, is seeking a full-time Title I paraprofessional to support students with disabilities and help implement instructional and behavioral strategies. The role involves 1:1 or small-group support, assisting with IEP/504 plans, and collaborating with the special education team.

Ability to de-escalate situations and navigate educational systems is required. Candidates must meet state requirements for Title I paraprofessionals.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
• Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their IEP and/or 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team, in 1:1 or small-group settings.
• Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction designed to meet the unique needs of each student, including resource room, inclusion and/or pullout services.
• Attend professional development, specialized trainings and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents as required.
• Assist with the required compliance documentation.
