Job summary

New Story Schools provides education for students aged 5–21 with autism and developmental challenges. A Special Education Paraprofessional supports academic, behavioral, and daily living goals under teacher guidance to help each student succeed with patience and encouragement.

You will implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans, assist with transitions and personal care, and help collect progress data while keeping a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities is preferred.

As a Special Education Paraprofessional at New Story Schools, you will work alongside teachers to support students’ academic, behavioral, and daily living goals. You’ll play a vital role in helping each student succeed through direct support, patience, and encouragement.

What You’ll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities
  • Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations
