Job summary

St. Croix Preparatory Academy is seeking a SPED Para/Educational Assistant to support classroom and resource room instruction. This part-time, benefits-eligible position starts as soon as possible with a start pay of $19.04/hour.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:35–3:05 (6.5 hours/day) on student contact days, located in the District. The role involves tutoring Language Arts and Math, assisting staff, and using technology for instruction and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-High School education or demonstrated proficiency on the Para Pro Assessment.
• Experience working with students in classroom, coaching or community settings.
• Ability to use technology to assist students and staff with instruction and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in Language Arts and Math.
• Assist with re-teaching and redirecting and delivering instruction for individuals.
• Support staff in classroom or resource room settings and with record keeping.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with students in a classroom, coaching or community setting.
• Strong content knowledge and ability to tutor students in one or more of the following:
  • Language Arts specifically in the areas of Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar
  • Math
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to coach/teach others those skills.
• Ability to assist with re-teaching, re-directing and delivering instruction for individuals.
• Ability to follow the directions of staff to work with students in a classroom or resource room setting.
• Ability to use technology to assist students and staff as needed with instruction and general record keeping.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four year college degree in a liberal arts setting.
• Experience working at or attending school in a classical education setting.

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of post-High School education or demonstrated proficiency on the Para Pro Assessment.

This is a part-time, benefits eligible position to start as soon as possible. $19.04/hour starting compensation. Monday-Friday 8:35-3:05 (6.5 hours/day), student contact days. Benefit Summary attached.
