QUALIFICATIONS:

The position of the Paraprofessional is to assist in providing a well organized, smooth functioning classroom environment in which all children can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.

High school diploma with at least 60 college hours or Associate Degree or have passed the ParaPro Praxis Exam.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   • Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with each other.

  • Reinforces research-based instructional activities with students as directed.
  • Under supervision of a licensed teacher, prepares for classroom activities.
  • Guides independent activities set up by the teacher.
  • Assists the teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as breakfast/snack, restroom, clothing needs, and the maintenance of the classroom.
  • Participates in daily outdoor play including interactions and guiding student learning.
  • Models a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
