Job summary

Roundup Fellowship in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students’ academic, social, and behavioral growth through direct instruction and daily assistance.

You will implement IEP and Day Treatment goals, collaborate with teachers, and participate actively in community activities to ensure student safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
• Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four (4) years of experience working with children.
• OR a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science.
• Must have at least five (5) years of valid driving experience and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License, or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure while working with individuals displaying a range of emotions and behaviors.
• Must be willing and able to drive regularly as part of job responsibilities.
• Must be willing to participate in ALL community activities with students, including but not limited to skiing, swimming, horseback riding, and other off-site activities.
• Requires mental flexibility, emotional stability, personal maturity, and creativity in dealing with difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students at school and in community settings ensuring their safety.
• Assist students to complete daily routines and programs.
• Intervene in behavior management as indicated in individual crisis intervention and behavior modification programs.
• Maintain frequent and professional communication with supervisors, family members, schools, therapists, and other professionals.
• Complete appropriate documentation including notes, behavior documentation and incident reports.
• Perform basic cleaning duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Participate in meetings and training as scheduled or requested by supervisor.
• Assist with transportation of students to and from school, for community activities, vocational and educational experiences, which included driving company vehicles.
• Participate in community activities with the students.
• Administer medication as prescribed following proper procedures.

Job Summary:

You’ll help implement IEP and Day Treatment goals, collaborate with teachers, and provide hands-on support throughout the school day.

You will also actively participate in community activities—such as swimming, skiing, and horseback riding ensuring student safety, engagement, and inclusion.

Pay Range: $18.67 – $24.31 an hour paid bi-weekly based off experience with youth and education.

Shift: 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read, write, and speak the English Language for required paperwork, testing, and professional communication.
• Ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft Office.
• Acceptable Driving record per RiseUp Policy and Procedure.
• Satisfactory background checks.
• Ability to do simple math calculations and analyze data.
• It requires scheduling flexibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively with respect and tact in order to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate plans, prepare materials.
• Maintain full Safety Care certification.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Requires sufficient range of physical strength, endurance, and mobility to assist in personal care of resident, activities, and behavioral interventions. Must be able to walk up and down one flight of stairs.
• Requires adequate range of hearing and vision to properly supervise students.
