Sylvania at Harrison K-8 School seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support students and teachers during the 2026-2027 school year. The role provides instructional and supervisory assistance under supervision, with emphasis on assisting special education programming as needed.
The position is full-time, 163 days per year, with pay based on the Instructional Support Salary Schedule and eligibility for certified substitute pay.

Pay for this position is determined by the Instructional Support Salary Schedule based on years of experience and education: $17.51-18.56 per hour (minimum pay), plus $50.00 per day if assigned as a qualified certified substitute teacher.

Operates under general guidelines provided by a supervising teacher under the direction of the site administrator(s) and provides instructional, supervisory, general, and/or special educational assistance to students and teachers. For Special Education, implements specialized programming and/or instructional support in and out of the general education classroom, supervised by the special education teacher, to support student growth.
Must have a High School diploma or equivalency.
Proficiency on a district-administered assessment or possession of an AA preference degree or the equivalency of two years of undergraduate college classes may be required, unless working in Title I. If working in Title 1, these qualifications are required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, feel, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, waist to overhead, waist to floor, and overhead to floor. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a school setting. Travel from site to site may occasionally expose the employee to wet and/or humid outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from generally quiet to increased during events or when using equipment. Classroom and 1:1 settings and possible outside supervisory duties in inclement weather. Must be able to work in person.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze and compute. Frequently required to compare, communicate, coordinate, instruct, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, and compile. Occasionally required to copy, synthesize, and negotiate.
