Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work alongside teachers in a supportive learning environment for students ages 5–21 with autism and other challenges.

You will help implement IEPs, support daily living goals, and maintain data on progress and behavior. The role requires calm, collaborative teamwork and a genuine commitment to student growth within a structured setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities is preferred (3 months+).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Help students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data to inform instruction.

As a Special Education Paraprofessional at New Story Schools, you will work alongside teachers to support students’ academic, behavioral, and daily living goals. You’ll play a vital role in helping each student succeed through direct support, patience, and encouragement.

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations

What You’ll Do

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance
