Job summary

East Sac County Schools in Iowa is seeking a Special Education Associate/Paraprofessional to support Lake View 7-12 students. The role provides classroom assistance, behavior support and crisis intervention under licensed staff supervision.

You will help implement individualized education plans, prepare materials, track attendance and student progress, and collaborate with the SPED team to meet student needs and district policies. ASAP start.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing academic, behavior management, crisis intervention and/or other educational service support in structured settings.
• Assists in providing individual and/or group instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Assists in implementing, adapting or developing curriculum materials under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Collaborates with the team in planning and implementing educational and behavioral interventions.
• Completes clerical duties related to educational programming and recordkeeping including attendance and behavior data.
• Provides support and supervision of students in the playground, lunchroom, restrooms, halls, media center and other areas as requested.
• Participates in staff development and professional growth activities and maintains records as required.
• Supports implementation of academic accommodations, modifications and plans outlined in IEPs.
