Job summary

Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 is seeking a full-time paraeducator to support teachers and students in special education programs. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and adherence to credentialing options or equivalent standards within six months.

Responsibilities include instructional assistance, following directions, and maintaining a safe learning environment, with required CPI/First Aid/AED and related safety trainings as directed by the program needs.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
• Effective July 1, 2010 Also must meet one of the following four qualifications: credential or higher education options, including 2 years of postsecondary study (48 credits) or an associate degree or higher, or a qualifying assessment.
• Provide evidence of 20 hours of staff development activities related to position each school year.
• Skills Required: Verbal communication and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher (instructional leader) and students in instructional activities.
• Support students in special education programs under supervision of the supervisor of special education.
• Maintain safety and assist with physical duties as needed.
