Job summary

Marlborough Public Schools invites applications for a Paraeducator at 1LT Charles W. Whitcomb School for the 2025-2026 school year. You will support students academically, socially, and behaviorally under direction from teachers and special education staff.

You will assist with IEP/504 Plan requirements, help administer tests, and participate in safety/crisis procedures. The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and promoting student independence in multiple settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 48 undergraduate credits preferred; Para-Pro test may be required.
• Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred; EL Paras require bilingual skills.
• Prior school/childcare experience preferred.
• Team player with collaborative attitude.
• Able to lift 25 pounds occasionally and transfer heavier amounts with assistance.
• Good physical agility; frequent bending, standing, kneeling, lifting; indoor/outdoor work.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of students.
• FERPA/HIPAA compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist instruction and supervision of students in various settings.
• Support students with IEPs/504 Plans and related services.
• Assist in administering tests and assessments.
• Provide safety support including crisis management per procedures.
• Attend trainings and maintain de-escalation certifications.
• Collect data and report student progress as directed.
• Escort and supervise students between school facilities.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support learning.
• Promote a positive learning environment and independence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
