Job summary

Nashua School District is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with special needs in a general education setting. The ESS paraprofessional will provide instructional reinforcement under supervision and assist with daily classroom activities.

The role includes implementing IEP/504 accommodations, supporting safety and behavior, and meeting personal needs. Minimum education requirements apply for a permanent position paying $25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with autism or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication with teachers and staff.
• Calm, patient, and flexible in challenging situations.
• Passion for supporting children's academic and behavioral development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with physical activities.
• Teamwork in a classroom setting.
• Education levels or NH Paraeducator II certification completed.
• Successful background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class.
• Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
• Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, field trips, and before/after school programs.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
• Support students with IEPs/504 Plans.
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
