Job summary

Ahschools is seeking a Paraeducator/Teacher Assistant for Special Education to support students with disabilities across classroom settings. The role involves behavior management, progress monitoring, and assisting with daily living skills and transitions.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional certification and credits depending on the level of education. Competitive hourly pay is offered with benefits for longer days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Personal Care Assistant certification required within 30 days of start date.
• 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits or an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution; or pass ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; ability to work with technology and staff; supervise students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings (mainstream, resource room, center base).
• Manage behavior by redirecting, calming or removing disruptive students.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.
• Assist with physical needs including toileting, feeding, lifting, positioning and transporting students.
