Job summary

Atlantic Group is urgently hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional in Brooklyn, NY for our client, the DOE, supporting K-12 students in a school-based classroom setting. This role provides 1:1 and small group support to students with special education, behavioral, developmental, and academic needs.

We offer full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities with a compensation of $23.70 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification: TA, HHA, or CNA certification is required.
• Experience: Experience supporting children or individuals with special needs is required.
• Ability: Follow instructional plans and provide classroom, behavioral, or one-on-one support.
• Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with students, teachers, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with academic and behavioral needs.
• Support teachers with instruction, classroom activities, and daily routines.
• Assist with behavior management strategies and intervention plans.
• Encourage participation, focus, and positive social interaction in the classroom.
• Track student progress and communicate updates with teachers and school staff.
