Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is seeking a Special Education Para at McKinley Middle School. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, work with students individually or in groups.
  • Assist with student supervision in classrooms, cafeteria, halls.
  • Implement behavior management strategies.
  • May ride the bus with students or work one-to-one on tasks.
  • Assist with health-related needs under nurse guidance.
  • Prepare materials used in the educational process.
  • Assist students at mealtimes and with personal hygiene.
  • Help transportation to bus or car; other duties as assigned.

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Under the direction of professional staff, work with students individually or in group settings.
  • Assist with supervision of students (classroom, cafeteria, halls, etc.).
  • Implement behavior management strategies.
  • May include riding the bus with students.
  • May include working one-to-one with a student to complete assigned tasks
  • Student supervision required.
  • Ensuring student safety is required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist students with the necessary health assistance under the guidance of the nurses.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials used in the educational process.
  • Assist students at mealtime.
  • Assist students in personal hygiene areas.
  • Help get students to and from the bus or car.
  • Other duties as may be assigned
  • Assignments may vary based on building and district needs

CLASSIFICATION

Seven hours (7) hours per day
