Job summary

Tigard-Tualatin SD 23J ART RUTKIN ELEMENTARY in Tigard, Oregon is hiring a Learning Specialist Assistant to support licensed teachers and implement instructional programs for students with special needs. The role is a 0.8125 FTE position with a start date of September 1, 2026.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional delivery, data collection for IEPs, parent communication, and maintaining confidentiality while supporting a collaborative educational team.

Qualifications

• Must have AA degree or equivalent.
• Spanish preferred.
• Oregon Driver's License or ability to get to work.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• One year minimum child-care or instructional assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing instructional programs for students with special needs.
• Support the Learning Specialist in daily classroom activities.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers as assigned.
• Monitor student progress and document data for IEPs.
• Escort and supervise students in various settings (classroom, playground, buses).
