Job summary

San Juan Unified School District is seeking an Elementary Instructional Assistant (IA III) to support students in ASD and ED programs. This part-time, permanent position serves the calendar 18A schedule and includes a 6.5-hour school day, Monday through Friday, with a 9-month year.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, CBEST or IA proficiency test, and be prepared to work with students with learning and communicative disabilities.

Qualifications

• Must attach High School Diploma or equivalent and one document from the following list: A or B.
• CBEST or IA Proficiency Test is required, regardless of education.
• Passing the IA Proficiency Test or CBEST is required for consideration.
• Foreign transcripts must be evaluated for US equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Support severe/emotionally disturbed students in learning environments.
• Assist individual students and small groups in ASD and ED programs.
• Comply with driver license requirement: obtain a California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire if needed.
