Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position offers prorated salary based on hire date and the REA contract's salary schedule. Minnesota PELSB license in Developmental Disabilities or Academic Behavior Strategist is preferred or required.

Experience in urban, multicultural classrooms and ongoing professional development are valued. Equity and collaboration with staff to support diverse learners are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota PELSB license in appropriate area preferred and/or required: K-12 Developmental Disabilities or Academic Behavior Strategist.
• RPS makes an effort to hire teachers with a full standard license in the assigned subject and/or grade level.
• Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
• Demonstrates continued professional development through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
