Irving Independent School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education Clerk to support the educational diagnostician and speech-language pathologist by managing special education records and data entry.
Under the supervision of the principal and diagnostic staff, you will maintain confidentiality, coordinate ARD scheduling, and help with intake, referrals, and communications with parents. This role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and teamwork in a school setting.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist the educational diagnostician and speech/language pathologist with the management of special education records. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of an educational diagnostician or speech/language pathologist.
Ability to use the computer proficiently for word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
Ability to work well with children with disabilities
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Experience working with children/students, parents, or persons with disabilities
Experience in a clerical position
Directly supervises none.
Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
