Job summary

Eastern Carver County Schools is seeking a Special Education Center-Based Paraprofessional (Behavior Specialist) district-wide to support students with IEPs and behavioral needs. Position starts ASAP, with Monday–Friday student contact days; hours to be determined.

Under the direction of a certified special education teacher, you will assist students with disabilities, participate in behavior support plans, and help implement instructional goals.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Associate's degree, at least two years of study (60 credits), or passing ParaEducator assessment within 60 days of hire.
• Interest and experience serving students with behavioral challenges preferred.
• Background check and ISD 112 Board approval required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a certified special education teacher to support students on IEPs.
• Assist students with disabilities and behavioral supports to meet individualized goals.
• Help implement instructional plans and classroom strategies for behavior management.

Position Start Date: ASAP

Position Days/Hours: Student contact days; Monday through Friday; Hours TBD

Salary: $25.99/hr (Tier 6)

Position Purpose: To work under the direction of a certified special education teacher, supporting students on Individual Educational Plans (IEPs). This position must also demonstrate understanding of individual and unique characteristics of students with disabilities and assist them with their special education needs. Interest and experience in serving students with behavioral challenges is preferred.

Education/Certification Requirements: Associate's degree, at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (a minimum of 60 semester credits), or a passing score on a required ParaEducator assessment within 60 days of hire.
