Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Special Education Bus Operator (#1801) to transport students to and from currently served schools including Wildwood Middle School, Driswood Elementary, EPIC Headstart (AM), and TA Lowery Elementary (PM), under the direction of the Transportation Department. Hours are 5:30 AM–9:00 AM and 1:30 PM–5:00 PM; this 200-day, non-exempt position follows WV Code and JCBOE policy.

Salary is set per the Jefferson County Salary Scale, commensurate with experience and education

CURRENT HOURS: 5:30 AM - 9 AM and 1:30 PM - 5 PM SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITH ADJUSTMENTS AND/OR ADDITIONS AS NEEDED.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Transportation/ Transportation Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

EMPLOYMENT TERM:200 days, pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-8; extended employment terms may be established by JCBOE

Pursuant to West Virginia Code, if a current JCS employee is selected as a finalist for this position, the employee is not eligible to transfer until the 2027–2028 school year.

SALARY:Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-8a, in accordance with Jefferson County Salary Scale, Pay Grade Dcommensurate with experience and education level
