Job summary

Lozano Smith is seeking an associate attorney in our Walnut Creek office to join the special education practice. The ideal candidate has 3 years of experience and admission to the California Bar, with a deep commitment to education law and serving public school districts.

You will contribute to the team by researching, drafting, and analyzing matters, advising on compliance with procedural and substantive education laws, and collaborating with colleagues in a collegial, mission-driven firm.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • Interest in special education law.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of California public agency and education laws preferred but not required.

Job description

Our Walnut Creek office is currently seeking an associate attorney for our special education practice. Lozano Smith is known for and provides the highest quality special education expertise in California. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney and be interested in special education law.

We are looking for creative thinkers and compassionate attorneys who are dedicated to helping public school districts comply with the procedural and substantive requirements of education law. Ideal candidates are bright, motivated, innovative individuals who thrive in a team-oriented environment. All candidates must have excellent academic credentials, strong research, writing, and analysis skills, a sense of humor, and a commitment to teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • Interest in special education law.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of California public agency and education laws preferred but not required.
