Primary Purpose
  • To assist in clerical duties and instructional responsibilities working under the direction of the Inclusion Teacher.
Qualifications

Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Ability to work with children with disabilities
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively
Experience
  • None… prior experience working with children with learning disabilities preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist classroom teachers in preparation of classroom teaching materials and bulletin boards.
  • Operate standard office machines.
  • Set up and operate audio‑visual equipment and computers.
  • Assist with the instructional program under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.
  • Work with an individual student and/or a small group of students, reinforcing academic, behavioral, or development skills.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks, data collection, and grading under the direction and supervision of a certified teacher.
  • Assist assessment team by administering achievement and/or development tests.
  • Help manage the behavior of assigned students.
  • Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Other School Health and Related Services (SHARS) duties as assigned.
