Job summary

Maury County Public Schools in Columbia, TN seeks a dedicated Classroom Aide to support a disabled student with daily personal care and learning activities. You will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and help with mobility, feeding, dressing, and use of prosthetic devices.

This role includes assisting with classroom management, clerical tasks, setting up learning materials, tutoring, and adhering to safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with training to provide role-specific services.
• Ability to work under supervision of classroom teacher.
• Confidentiality regarding student records.

Responsibilities

• Assist disabled students with personal needs (walking, eating, dressing, prosthetics).
• Help students board buses and move between activities.
• Assist with student management and behavior.
• Provide clerical assistance to teachers.
• Set up and operate learning/development equipment and materials.
• Tutor students.
• Follow safety rules and procedures; participate in restraint/de-escalation training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
