Position Overview:

Paraprofessionals will work under the direction of licensed teachers and service providers to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. Responsibilities may include individual or small-group instruction, behavior support, and assistance with personal care or mobility, depending on student needs.

• Assist in the implementation of instructional and/or behavioral plans
• Support students in general and special education settings
• Monitor and document student progress as directed
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff
• Provide supervision and support during transitions, recess, and lunch as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must meet Minnesota paraprofessional qualification standards
  • Candidates must have completed 60 semester credits or obtained an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution or have passed the ParaEducator exam or ParaPro exam. (Documentation will be required)
  • The district will provide support for individuals needing to complete the paraprofessional assessment.
