Qualifications

• Current Illinois paraprofessional or educator license required.
• Ability to work with children within the school setting.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with behavior management and positive reinforcement.
• Basic record keeping and classroom procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of instructional activities and small group work.
• Reinforce information and assist with follow-up after lessons.
• Support students during recess, lunch, and bus activities.
• Implement behavior modification plans as needed for individual students.
• Maintain confidentiality and positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

Education

Current Illinois Paraprofessional (Aide) Approval

Educator License with Stipulations

Professional Educator License

Substitute License

Associate degree or higher

60 semester hours of coursework

High school diploma or equivalent + ETS Parapro
