Job summary

Wichita Falls Independent School District is seeking an Aide II for the 2026-2027 academic year to support a special education setting. The role reports to the principal and certified teachers, working assigned campus to assist with instructional and student care tasks.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, maintaining classroom order, assisting with student transfers and personal care, and supervising students throughout the day. Requires a diploma and Texas aide certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 48 college hours or TOPS Training through Region 9 ESC.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• Some experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transferring and positioning.
• Assist students with physical needs and personal care.
• Help manage behavior of students and intervene as needed.
• Work with individual students or small groups to develop motor skills.
• Supervise students throughout the school day (lunchroom, bus, playground).
• Assist with daily living skills and gardening when applicable.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems.
