Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares for classroom activities under supervision of certified teacher.
• Performs clerical duties for assigned teacher.
• Assists teacher with instructional classroom duties.
• Assists the students in physical/academic environments outside the classroom when applicable.
• Grades papers and helps with records as needed.
• Assists with individual children's needs when called upon.
• Maintains confidentiality for students.
• Works with special and general education teachers to implement instruction.
• Supports children to develop positive feelings about themselves and school.
• Models language and behavior for children.
• Assists in collecting and arranging resources and teaching aids.
• Maintains records, scoring, and distribution of books and supplies.
• Assists substitute teachers similarly.
• Pursues in-service and professional growth activities.
• Follows district, state, and federal laws and procedures.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
