Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Special Education Academic Coach II to support students with diverse needs by providing individualized instruction and supervision in a general education setting. The role emphasizes building relationships, applying ABA strategies, and coordinating with teachers to ensure student success.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, plus an Associate's degree or 48+ college units, and experience in schools or with learning differences.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree or 48+ eligible college units preferred.
• Ability to assist in instruction and support for students with diverse needs; ABA strategies experience preferred.
• Experience in a school environment and familiarity with student health/safety considerations helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by working 1:1 with students with mild/moderate behavioral or academic needs.
• Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and support health/safety needs as required.
• Provide instruction support and supervision for students with learning differences, including tutorials.
• Monitor student progress and provide input for evaluations using provided templates/resources.
• Perform clerical tasks including note taking, document completion, and record-keeping.

JOB SUMMARYThe Special Education Academic Coach II is responsible for ensuring that students with diverse needs have access to our general education curriculum. Special Education Academic Coaches are essential to maintaining our low student-teacher ratio and ensuring all students get the individualized attention requisite for success.Duties include:Assist teachers by working with individual students with mild/moderate behavioral or academic needs on a one-to-one basis1:1 duties may include but are not limited topossible light toileting and hygiene supportattending to student basic health and safety needsimplementation of a behavior intervention plan1:1 support provided in various settingsmonitoring mild to moderate medical needsAssist with the instruction and supervision of students who may have learning differencesAssist with tutorial activities working with an individual or group of students who may have learning differencesMonitor student progress and provide input for evaluation using provided templates / resourcesEstablish rapport and meaningful relationships with referred students to assist in improving theirbehavior, educational performance, and social relationshipsPerform clerical support duties including typing, completing documents, forms, record, correspondence; which may include note taking for studentsThe ideal candidate would possess the following competencies:Building relationshipsCommunication, both written and oralAbility to evaluate alternativesInterpersonal skillsAbility to listen and motivateTeamworkCreate plans and goal setEDUCATIONHigh School diploma/GED andAn Associate's degree (or higher) or48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university orMet a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading (or readiness), writing (or readiness), and mathematics (or readiness).EXPERIENCEExperience in a school/learning environment preferredExperience with ABA strategies preferred and/orExperience with student medical needs preferred
